Creator Mike White hints that Season 3 of "The White Lotus" may take place in Asia.

White suggests that the third season will focus on "death and Eastern religion and spirituality."

In the Season 2 finale, characters discuss potentially visiting the Maldives, which could hint at the location of Season 3.

White previously said that he would like to "go to a whole different continent" for Season 3.

In the "Unpacking S2 E7" segment, White discussed the death of Tanya in the Season 2 finale.

White said he felt Tanya's death was "an operatic conclusion" to her character's story.

White also discussed the conspiracy to kill Tanya and what may happen with that storyline in Season 3.

White said he wanted to bring Tanya back in Season 3, but felt that her death was a fitting end to her character.

It remains to be seen whether Season 3 will follow through on White's hints and take place in Asia.
